Winnings ...

I won some beautiful British Southdown fiber in a drawing at a great website called PhatFiber. I've learned much there. I have never spun yarn but I certainly will now. The colors in this marigold fiber are beautiful. I'm going to purchase a drop spindle and hopefully will be successful in spinning this beautiful fiber and knitting something equally beautiful. I love the look of a spinning wheel. It reminds me of Granny's house when I was a kid. She had a huge one. I never saw anyone use it but I remember it was beautifully decorated at Christmases. I am a leg amputee and the one foot I do have has become paralyzed in recent years due to nerve damage. I have not seen a spinning wheel I could use so I will give the drop spindle a try. Has anyone used one of those before? Or should I pay someone to spin for me? haha

The sweet card says "Laugh Yourself into Stitches". It was so nice of the website owner to send such a nice note with the fiber. I love the bright sunshiny colors. What a nice thing to look at on a rainy day.

Wishing you a great weekend!

Winter Wonderland ...

It's snowing out there ... and it's snowing a lot!! We got about four inches on Friday; two inches on Saturday and predicted an additional four today.  This is what winter is supposed to be, although I prefer the warm weather we had a few weeks ago.

I so enjoy bird watching and feeding wild animals. I hope you enjoy just a snippet of the photos I've taken in the past few days.

What A Sad Day ...

Prayers for those affected by the murders of those children and adults in Newtown, Connecticut and those in the murders at the mall in Portland, Oregon. I believe the end times, no matter how many years or decades that may be, are here.
