He's a porker. ha And ashamedly, that is my fault. He had lost quite a bit of weight and was doing so well. Somehow he started getting food off the countertop. I'm not sure how it happened unless the cats helped him. He ate an entire cake that was cooling on the stove and an entire pan of milk chocolate brownies. Plus other little grabs here and there. The last time he was at the vet he had gained 8 pounds! I felt I was going to cry. He's been on nothing but dog food (the expensive kind!) for 9 months now. When I cook, it's put away or set to cool in the oven ... not on top of it. He's got some age on him and he's never been much of a player. I take him for walks but it's so difficult it doesn't happen often enough.
The three dogs we have now are outside, but we had an inside rat terrier several years ago. We never fed him any sweets so I had no idea he had a sweet tooth until I hid a surprise birthday cake in my bedroom, on the spur of the moment, to keep it from being discovered too soon. Boy, was I shocked to find all the frosting licked off of it when I returned to put it in the fridge. O.O lol
What a doggie! Ours sleep all day and bark most of the night, lol. Hope you have a great week!
